Principal's Welcome

It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as Principal and welcome you to Our Lady of Lourdes Secondary School, New Ross.

As Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) Secondary School, a school where we believe in the transformative power of education for young women. I hope our website will give you a sense of what makes OLOL a special place. Our founding Order, the Holy Faith Sisters, established OLOL in 1924. The Holy Faith Sisters withdrew from Rosbercon in 1998 when the first lay Principal was appointed. Since then we are under the trusteeship of the Bishop of Ossory.

We aim to provide young women with the opportunity to experience a holistic education rooted in Christian values and to strive for academic excellence in a happy, joyful atmosphere. Our school is a learning community founded on faith, hope, and love. We nurture respect, responsibility, and Christian commitment, empowering every student to prepare for a meaningful and purposeful life.

OLOL is a small single sex all-girls school. We have an inclusive and student-centred post-primary school where every learner is truly known. Our size allows us to build strong, meaningful relationships, ensuring that each student is personally supported and valued throughout their educational journey. Our dedicated staff take great pride in providing high-quality teaching that supports every student in reaching their full potential. We strive for strong academic standards and engage in ongoing professional development to ensure our practice remains current and effective.
