Amber Flag

Through the Amber Flag initiative, students at Our Lady of Lourdes Secondary School are given the opportunity to be involved in a project that encourages schools to promote positive mental health. The Amber Flag team consists of representatives from each year group in the school. They meet regularly to discuss ideas and projects that could be promoted among the student body including our Halloween fancy-dress competition and Monster Quiz, Stand Up Awareness Week, Wear Red Against Racism Day, International/Multicultural Week and Wellbeing Week. The group has worked to raise funds for a number of charities including Pieta House, New Ross Community Hospital, Youth New Ross and Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
